with Signal.
What is Signal, also called WatchWithSignal?
Signal is the YouTube video-checking browser extension from Attention Signal, LLC. WatchWithSignal and Watch With Signal refer to this product. It is independent of YouTube and Google.
Can Signal detect YouTube clickbait?
Promise Match estimates whether a video delivers on the expectation set by its title and thumbnail. It can help you spot an overstretched promise, but it is not a fact checker or a judgment of the creator’s intentions. See how the checks work.
Does Signal find filler or low-information videos?
Substance estimates how much of the video contains distinct useful development. A low score can help you decide whether to keep looking. It does not measure an exact number of wasted minutes or decide whether the topic matters to you.
Do I need to paste a YouTube link or ask AI for a summary?
No. Signal adds scores automatically to eligible YouTube video cards as you browse. Hover to open the explanation. You do not need a separate summarizer tab, a pasted link or a prompt.
Does Signal block ads or replace YouTube thumbnails?
No. Signal adds context alongside YouTube videos. It does not block ads, replace titles or thumbnails, or replace YouTube Premium.
How do I install Signal?
Open the Chrome Web Store listing on your computer and choose Add to Chrome. Pin Signal from your browser’s extensions menu, open it, sign in with Google, and accept the Terms and data-use agreement. Then open YouTube. See setup steps.
Can I use it on my phone or another browser?
Signal runs on desktop Chrome and Edge. Mobile browsers cannot run this extension. Save the setup link and continue on your computer.
What does the free trial include?
Your Google account gets 100 successful unique video checks in total, with no card required and no automatic paid renewal. Opening a result again, failed checks, and unscored videos do not use another check. Reinstalling does not restart the trial.
How do I subscribe or manage billing?
Choose a monthly or annual plan on Pricing, sign in, then review the total at Stripe checkout. Annual plans are charged in full, while checks refresh monthly. Log in to see usage or manage an existing subscription. Canceling renewal keeps access through the paid period.
I joined the waitlist or used the beta. What happens now?
Use the same Google account you used for Signal. A reserved 250-check trial is the existing trial, not an extra allowance; checks already used count toward it. Existing beta access and usage stay with your account. Signal never starts a paid subscription automatically.
What does the percentage mean?
Both scores run from 0–100%. Promise Match rates how well the video delivers on its title and thumbnail. Substance estimates how much of the video contains distinct useful development. Both are automated estimates and can be wrong. The chip shows the lower score. Open it to see both scores and the explanation.
Why might a video have no score?
There may not be enough suitable spoken content or other evidence to support Signal’s checks.
Can I leave the waitlist?
Use the unsubscribe link in a Signal waitlist email. Unsubscribing stops emails without cancelling a reserved launch offer.
How do I ask about my data?
Email Signal support to request access or deletion. Read the extension privacy notice or waitlist privacy notice for details.
